Mt Huia is fortunate to be located centrally to the Rangitikei and Manawatu Districts, allowing visitors to easily access the many local and regional attractions in this fast developing tourist area. River sports
The Rangitikei River is the iconic feature of the district. Passages of enchanting river canyons, gorges of violent whitewater, and sparkling still pools provide superb rafting, kayaking, fishing and swimming experiences.

History abounds in the region and there are many opportunities to learn and experience what pioneer life was like. Interesting historic cemeteries as well.
Ruapuna Park
Private collection of settlers living requirements and machinery in a purpose-built colonial house, on Ruahine Road near Rangiwahia.
 
Taihape Museum
Museum of memorabilia from the times of the first settlement of Taihape with the building of the Main Trunk Railway. Open restricted hours.
 
Heritage Mangaweka
Relocated railway station building in the centre of Mangaweka, with photographic display.

Rangatira Golf Course
Situated on SH1, a welcoming course with astounding views from 3 river terraces with 6 holes on each. Electric cable car takes you from the 18th hole back to the clubhouse.
